There are a number of tailgating options availed to individuals or small groups who want to entertain their friends and family in a reserved tailgating space at "The Party & Social Event of the Year!" The Fourteenth Annual Queen's Cup Steeplechase, held Saturday, April 25, 2009, will be the springtime place to be. There are several options when it comes to picking a tailgate package that's right for you. Have a look at the map below, along with the descriptions and pricing, to see which spot meets your needs. Last year, tailgating spaces sold out several weeks before the event, so don't delay to avoid disappointment. Individual tickets (or badges) are also available if you plan to meet your friends at their tailgate space. Limited Bus Parking Available. Please contact the Queen's Cup Office (704) 843-7070 at least ten (10) days prior to the race for permit prices and other details.

For the first time in Steeplechase racing history, Charlotte Steeplechase Association, in addition to selling regular spring subscriptions, is also offering for sale the opportunity to purchase Personal Space Licenses (PSLs) for most entertainment & tailgating options. The PSLs are being used to retire the construction debt while they guarantee you the opportunity to hold a permanent tailgating space for your family for generations to come. LAWN BOX ON MEMBER'S HILL

This is a secured area located on 3 grass tiers down Member's Hill only feet from the finish line and Parade Ring with a nearly unobstructed view of the entire racecourse. The Lawn Boxes are equivalent to being in Club Seats on the fifty yard line. Each reserved, open-air, private box measures 10' x 12' and includes up to 10 Lawn Box badges, up to 3 VIP parking passes (located behind Member's Hill), up to 10 chairs, a round table with themed linen, flower arrangement and Race Programs awaiting you and your guest when you arrive.
Two ways to be on Member's Hill:
- Option 1: Purchase a PSLs for $6,000 and you'll own your very own Box for life, with your renewal of the annual subscription fee. Purchase a Lawn Box and we'll include your 2008 subscription fee, a $1,250 savings. Food and bar service is not included in your annual subscription but is available as an option for $125 per person/$50 per kids 18 and under. Option for two more Lawn Box badges with chairs, are available with a total of 10 in your box. Free access to the Club House, next to the Elkridge Club, to get out of the elements.
- Option 2: Lease the Lawn Box: $3,950. Includes All Day Open Bar for 10, exquisitely catered by Something Classic Catering in an all-you-can-eat buffet, open from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the exclusive Elkridge Club on Member's Hill. Included with the Lawn Box lease is a business card size race program ad.

CLUBHOUSE TURN

This is a secure area located outside of the first turn and designed for corporate entertainment with railside action and people watching. A reserved 20' x 20' hospitality tent includes 15 Clubhouse Turn parking passes and 40 Clubhouse Turn badges. The Club House Turn is a secured area. PSL's are NOT available in the Club House Turn. PADDOCK
Always guaranteed to sell out early! This is a secured area located on the inside rail of the finishing stretch just feet away from the racing action. Paddock subscribers enjoy the racing while tailgating in an oversized 12' x 40' reserved parking space. Includes one Paddock car pass and 2 Paddock Badges and includes a Market Umbrella Table. Additional Paddock Badges are available for $40 each only available through the Queen's Cup Office (limit 12 extra badges per space). Chairs are available for $2.00 each and are also only available through the Steeplechase office. All Guests, including mobile children, must wear a Paddock Badge to gain entry. OLD HILLTOP
Nestled beneath old white oaks, Old Hilltop sits above the Crest just below Turn 3 of the race course. Enjoy the festivities with your reserved 12' x 20' parking space that includes 1 Reserved Parking Pass and 2 General Admission Badge. CROUP (a family area) THIS AREA IS DESIGNED FOR FAMILIES WITH SMALL CHILDREN!
This is a new tailgating area we have designed for families with kids in mind! Situated below the Withers and closest to the Jack Russell Terrier Races. Your 12' x20' reserved tailgate space comes with 1 Parking Pass & 2 General Admission Badges. Maximum of 12 people per space. Additional General Admission badges are available for $40 each. Remember, kids 12 and under are admitted FREE and no badge is required. PSL's are NOT available in Croup. Back to map

RESERVED REMOTE PARKING
GREEN SPRING
For the convenience of those joining tailgate Subscribers or PSl holders, we have officially opened-up a new reserved parking area called Green Spring. This area is strictly for remote parking with no view of the course. Green Spring is just a short walk through a tree-lined path leading to Turn 4 (near the Meadows) and the car crossing to the infield parking areas. The entrance to Green Spring is located at our new Gate 4 off of Old Waxhaw-Monroe Road (SR 1111). The map accompanying your passes will reflect this new addition.
Green Spring Parking Passes (limit 2 per reserved tailgate space) may be purchased in advance for $50 per car but will only be made available to the individual who has purchased a tailgating space(s) in Meadows, Withers, Crest, Croup or Old Hilltop. Only available by calling the Queen's Cup office. Please respect the maximum number of guests allowed in your tailgate space and remember that all persons over the age of 12 must wear a General Admission Badge. Back to map

LOT AA
For the
convenience of those wishing to know they will be parking closest to the racecourse without having to reserve a parking place within the racecourse, we are once again offering reserved General Admission parking in the Upper General Admission Parking Lot, near the Club House Turn near turn one of the racecourse. We call this area LOT AA. This is for those wanting to be assured of having a short walk to areas in the infield such as PADDOCK. The
entrance to LOT AA is accessed from GATE 2 off of Highway 75. Only available by calling the Queen's Cup office. There is no limit to the number of LOT AA parking tags that can be sold and is available to any subscriber. Back to map

------------------------------------------------------------------------- GENERAL ADMISSION (GA) PARKING & BADGES:
NEW FOR 2008: Parking is free in the General Admission (GA) Parking Lot areas. More shuttles will be available for your convenience to drop you and your guests off at several points around the perimeter of the Valley View tailgating area. There is NO CHARGE for the shuttle!
The GA UPPER LOT is about a 10 minute walk from the Infield. This lot is first come, first served and is generally the first to fill. Overflow and oversized vehicles go to the GA LOWER LOT which can take up to a 20 minute walk to the infield.
Shuttle Service is available FREE to all patrons from both the GA UPPER & LOWER LOTS. You may carry folding chairs, blankets, coolers, picnics (no tents or sunbrellas) and set up for viewing in any spot that is not designated as a reserved tailgate space or otherwise noted as NO TRESPASSING or NO ADMITTANCE. Please note: There is no permanent seating in the Infield, so bring something to sit on. Children accompanied by an adult, 12 & under, are admitted FREE and do not require a badge in most areas of the racecourse except in Member's Hill, Paddock and stable area or except as noted.
GA BADGES:
All Racegoers entering onto the race grounds must have a General Admission Badge. Starting March 29th, GA BADGES will be available for purchase through selected Charlotte regional area Harris Teeter or McAlister's Deli locatons for $35 (a $5.00 discount off of the original price). Children accompanied by an adult, 12 & under are admitted free and do not require a badge in General Admission areas except as noted. Prices increase Race Day at the Gate: A limited number of GA BADGES are available on race day at the gate for $60 each (limited availability). Please note: those individuals who are admited but do not have a badge will be required to purchase a GA badge for $60 including those who are accompanied in vehicles entering grounds.
Children 12 and under: Free (in most areas of racecourse except Paddock & Member's Hill)
